# Gabapentin

Gabapentin är ett receptbelagt läkemedel som används för att behandla epilepsi. Det fungerar också som smärtstillande mot perifer nervsmärta, en smärta i främst armar och ben som kommer av diabetes eller bältros. Det är inte helt klarlagt hur läkemedlet fungerar vid nervsmärta, men det minskar nervernas känslighet.
Är gabapentin beroendeframkallande?
Till skillnad från det närbesläktade läkemedlet pregabalin är gabapentin inte narkotikaklassat, men det finns ändå en viss risk för att beroende utvecklas.
Gabapentin och alkohol
Små mängder alkohol går bra att dricka för de flesta som behandlas med gabapentin. Ta det försiktigt och var uppmärksam på att alkohol i kombination med gabapentin kan göra dig extra trött.
Biverkningar av gabapentin
Alla läkemedel kan ge biverkningar, men det är inte alla användare som behöver få dem.
