# Diabetes

Här hittar du flera olika produkter som kan vara till hjälp för dig med diabetes som t.ex. blodsockermätare, diabetikersockor, druvsocker, kylväskor för insulin samt speciellt anpassade krämer för exempelvis fötter. Det finns flera olika former av diabetes, typerna kallas typ 1-diabetes, typ 2-diabetes, graviditetsdiabetes och LADA. Gemensamt för alla former av diabetes är att blodsockret i kroppen är för högt. Detta beror på att insulinet som reglerar blodsockret inte räcker till eller kan bildas över huvud taget. Insulin är ett peptidhormon som bukspottkörtelns betaceller utsöndrar som svar på att nivåerna av glukos höjs i blodet. Insulinet hjälper alltså kroppen att hålla blodsockret på en bra nivå. Vid behandling används olika typer av insulin, till exempel insulin aspart, som är ett snabbverkande insulin som hjälper till att sänka blodsockret i samband med måltid. Om kroppen inte kan producera insulin leder till ett för högt blodsockervärde.
